Job Description
Classification Title: DIR, Operations
Classification Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
Academic Program Management and Operations
- Provide data-driven recommendations and action plans to enhance program management, operations, and efficiency.
- Supervise Academic Program Specialist III.
- Partner with the Associate Dean to evaluate and optimize marketing, recruitment, enrollment, and curriculum strategies for CVM distance education programs.
- Prepare reports and recommendations regarding associations and agreements with external partners.
- Oversee course development and scheduling with COIP and departments; ensure adequate offerings and correct course coding.
- Provide regular program updates and troubleshooting support for CVM Program Directors.
- Coordinate faculty course instruction with Associate Dean and content experts.
- Oversight of faculty compliance (attestation, grading, etc.) with UF CVM and UF Graduate School policies.
Student Success
- Communicate program features, requirements, and expectations to prospective and current students.
- Collaborate with Program Leads and vendors to develop initiatives that increase distance education student retention.
- Support Academic Program Specialist III in designing coaching initiatives to improve retention.
- Work with the Associate Dean to assess program effectiveness and student satisfaction.
Recruitment, Admissions, and Enrollment Management
- Review and approve marketing content for distance education programs; oversee implementation and evaluate impact.
- Manage website updates and enhancements for distance education programs.
- Lead and participate in strategic planning with program leads and service partners to increase qualified applicants and improve yield.
- Supervise and coordinate the application and admissions process with service providers.
- Supervise Academic Program Specialist III.
- Organize application reviews and interpret university and graduate school policies.
- Manage applicant, admission, and yield data for reporting purposes.
- Monitor enrollment capacity each term and advise departments on adjustments to offerings based on demand.
- Lead new and coordinate existing onboarding programs for distance education students.
Support for the College
- Build and maintain partnerships across the University.
- Represent distance education programs on college, department, and university committees.
- Ensure compliance with applicable university, state, and federal regulations.
- Orient and support faculty in understanding relevant policies and protocols related to distance education.
- Serve as the primary college contact for distance education programs.
Fiscal Management
- Collaborate with leadership to improve data collection and financial analysis, producing targeted reports for efficient program management.
- Conduct operational efficiency analyses for distance education programs, including external partnerships, to maximize ROI.
- Work with the Associate Dean and Executive Director to develop and manage the annual operating budget for distance education programs.
- Monitor student credit hours and calculate tuition shares for self-funded programs in collaboration with third-party partners.
- Ensure faculty payment for course delivery.
Expected Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 yearly
Required Qualifications: Masters degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- 6 years of academic experience in distance education, graduate or veterinary education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate within teams and other stakeholders
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with leadership, staff and students
