About the Digital Innovation Unit
The Digital Innovation Unit is a capability within the Faculty of UCL Engineering Sciences and the first of its kind in UCL. Its mission is to develop a model for the ‘Faculty of the Future,’ by applying digital innovation to all aspects of academic practice: research, teaching, knowledge transfer and professional services.
The unit seeks to advance the strategic mission of the faculty by identifying business problems and areas for improvement; designing, developing, and implementing solutions; transforming working practices; and providing coaching, mentoring, and training for faculty staff.
About the role
Reporting to the Events Manager, the postholder is expected to collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty of Engineering Sciences Marketing and Communications team, and in UCL Chemical Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE), and Security and Crime Science (SCS), developing a strong understanding of their objectives and key audiences, and ensuring events support these.
The postholder will ensure that all events are delivered to a high professional standard, including catering, venue sourcing, AV requirements and staffing for in-person events, and selecting appropriate technology and digital tools for online events, keeping up-to-date knowledge of virtual event tech to ensure online events are leading edge and reflect positively on the UCL brand.
About you
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:
- Experience of delivering a variety of in-person and online/virtual events.
- Experience of delivering multiple events and/or projects simultaneously, delivering all to meet required objectives and deadlines.
- High level of digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and digital events platforms.
