What We'll Love About You
- You are a licensed Physical Therapist with an active, unencumbered PT license in any U.S. jurisdiction and are compliant with the Arizona state practice act.
- You bring 3-5 years of diverse clinical practice experience, with exposure to multiple practice settings.
- You have at least two years of experience as a Site Coordinator of Clinical Education, Clinical Instructor, or in teaching, curriculum development, and administration within a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) education program.

Typical Duties
- Job Duties:
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise all student clinical education experiences for the PTA student.
- The Clinical Coordinator has a full-time teaching responsibility, including developing and delivering instruction for multiple courses, skill labs, and assessment activities that prepare students for successful participation in clinical education.
- Through focused classroom and laboratory teaching, the coordinator ensures students are clinically ready and demonstrate entry-level competence with the expectations of the physical therapist assistant profession.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the college and affiliated clinical sites, ensuring compliance with program and accreditation requirements.
- Monitor student clinical performance through regular communication with PTA students, assigned clinical instructors, and on-site visits, documenting progress, site compliance, and addressing concerns.
- Advise and prepare students for clinical education, ensuring readiness in safety, professional behaviors and technical skills. Responsibilities include monitoring students with all required clinical needs records (background check, vaccination status, current CPR card, etc.) to maintain compliance with clinical partners.
- Maintain accurate records, including accumulation of data of the student's clinical experiences, competencies, and clinical evaluations in accordance with CAPTE standards. Knowledge of the APTA Web CPI 3.0 platform.
- Participate in program curriculum development, and assessment to integrate clinical education with didactic instruction.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining Canvas course shells and effectively utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver course content and support student learning.
- Collaborate with adjunct faculty and the PTA program director on program evaluation, improvement plans, and preparation of the CAPTE annual accreditation reports and self-study reports.
- Ensure that all clinical affiliates have current affiliation agreements and maintain sufficient contracted clinical sites to provide the variety to meet accreditation standards.
- Promote community-based clinical opportunities and service-learning consistent with the college mission.
- Collaborate with the program director and adjunct faculty to ensure curriculum alignment between classroom, lab, and clinical experiences.
- Support student advising, retention, and remediation efforts as well as marketing for the program.
- Participate in program faculty meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and professional development activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the PTA program director.
- Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- A physical therapist (PT) who holds an active, unencumbered PT license in the state of Arizona or the ability to obtain Arizona licensure through reciprocity.
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time, post-licensure clinical practice in physical therapy. This must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education (CCCE) or as a clinical instructor for a PT or PTA program, or the coordinator must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT or PTA higher education program.
- Documented effectiveness in clinical teaching, mentoring, developing, conducting and coordinating a clinical education program.
