HEO10 with 17% superannuation with excellent career development opportunities

Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Governance and Assurance Specialist within Information and Communications Technology. This role will support the effective governance, assurance and oversight of ICT initiatives across a complex delivery portfolio.

Why join the University of Sydney?

Join one of Australia's leading universities at a pivotal time, where technology is evolving to better support student learning, teaching excellence, and research at global scale.

ICT is central to the University's mission, delivering the platforms, services, and partnerships that enable student success, strengthen teaching, and accelerate research impact.

With strong investment and ambitious transformation underway, you'll work in a large and complex environment where your contribution will have visible, meaningful impact across the University community.

The opportunity

This is a critical Delivery Office role focused on assurance across the full ICT project lifecycle, from statement of work through discovery, delivery and implementation. You’ll work with internal ICT stakeholders, including Digital Engagement, the Digital Sydney Uni portfolio and ICT executive leadership, helping ensure initiatives move through the right governance pathways with quality, rigour and transparency.

What you'll do

  • Manage governance and assurance activities across ICT projects and programs, from intake and prioritisation through to delivery checkpoints and closure.
  • Review statements of work, project artefacts and status reporting to ensure quality, completeness and alignment with governance requirements.
  • Support senior ICT stakeholders with timely approvals, decision-making integrity and clear follow-up across governance processes.
  • Monitor project and portfolio risks, embedding assurance practices that support compliance, audit readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the refinement of ICT governance frameworks, stage gates, controls and delivery practices

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in ICT governance, IT portfolio management, project management or a related field.
  • Good understanding of ICT project lifecycles, stage gates, delivery artefacts and governance controls.
  • Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking and attention to detail.
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge, influence and follow up senior stakeholders constructively.
  • A structured, proactive and persuasive working style, with the rigour to maintain standards across a complex project environment

What's in it for you?

  • 17% superannuation.
  • Generous parental leave entitlements.
  • Salary packaging options.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Career development and learning opportunities.
  • Health and wellbeing programs, including Fitness Passport.
  • Access to a vibrant, globally recognised university community
