Graphic Arts Specialist
This position exists to provide planning and support in the areas of marketing and graphic design to raise awareness of Pine Technical and Community College. This position supports college-wide marketing efforts by serving as the college’s senior graphic designer, leading in the development of brand and visual communication strategies and managing the production of visual and digital publications, displays, signage and other related hard goods. This position also provides administrative and technical support to the Dean of Outreach and Strategic Partnerships.
Salary Range: 24.05 - 34.65 hourly
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to:
- Provide layout and graphic design of print, web-based, and visual graphic materials (e.g. publications, newsletters, brochure, flyers, booklets, posters, trade show materials),
- Produce original artwork, designs and logos, using natural artistic talent, clip art, computer generated art and photos,
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer software packages and graphic design programs (Mac, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress)
Knowledge of: printing processes and procedures to coordinate production with internal clients and external printers, vendors.
Preferred Qualification
Associate degree in graphic design, communication art, web design, marketing or related field, and/or relevant and recent work experience.
Previous professional work experience in a customer service role.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in a variety of mediums (in-person, via phone, through electronic correspondence).
Two years of work experience in designing and producing publications (education industry a plus).
Strong organizational, project management and planning skills in order to manage projects, identify priorities, document projects and expenditures, and meet timelines with little supervision.
Strong spelling, punctuation, grammar, copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills in order to write to different audiences and for different platforms (print and web).
Advanced knowledge of computer applications, i.e. Adobe Creative Suites.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and work effectively in a team environment
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
