Instruction and Curriculum Lead
Job Summary
The Instruction and Curriculum Lead provides strategic oversight and coordination of instructional delivery and curriculum development for Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs, including both face-to-face and remote learning environments. In collaboration with the AEL Director and in accordance with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) guidelines, this role offers specialized and technical support to the curriculum review process to ensure instructional quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with AEL grant requirements, educational standards, and college policies.
This is a 100% grant-funded position. Therefore, the continuation of the position is subject to continued external funding.
Required Qualifications
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Instructional Oversight of AEL Instructors
- Provide leadership and coordination of AEL curriculum and instruction, ensuring consistency and quality across all modalities, including face-to-face and remote learning.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of AEL instructional staff, ensuring appropriate course assignments based on instructor qualifications and availability.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve instructional or service delivery issues and ensure effective program operations.
- Maintain accurate and accessible curricular documentation for faculty, staff, students, and external agencies.
Curriculum Development for AEL Programs
- Develop and revise curriculum for AEL career pathway programs, ensuring alignment with Texas AEL Content Standards, workforce needs, and career pathways guidance.
- Review curriculum materials for accuracy and compliance with institutional policies, regulatory codes, and accreditation standards.
- Enter and maintain curriculum documentation in internal and external systems to support program transparency, tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with the college’s curriculum coordinator or specialist to develop reports and maintain databases related to curriculum and assessment.
- Assist in updating program descriptions and degree requirements for the college catalog, websites, and intranet, ensuring alignment with curricular changes.
- Oversee the program’s digital learning platforms, serve as the point of contact for vendors, develop instructional content, ensure student utilization, and monitor usage and learning outcomes.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in higher education.
Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Familiarity with post-secondary curriculum maintenance.

Compensation Type: Salary. Employment Type: Full time. Hiring Minimum: $47,008.00. Hiring Maximum: $56,409.60. Compensation is determined based on experience.
