Our caring, collaborative, and diverse culture is what defines us and together we can and will achieve our dreams!

Our Perks: HCCC provides full-time employees with a strong, comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, parental leave, paid time off, retirement plans, and up to $9,000 per year invested in your professional development. Additionally, we also offer employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, flexible hybrid schedules (depending on the position), employee discount marketplace, auto and home insurance discounts and more.

School Introduction: The School of Business, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management (BCH) helps students attain the knowledge and skillset required for today’s in-demand career industries such as accounting, business, culinary arts, baking and pastry, hospitality management, and other business-related fields. We offer remote, hybrid, and online classes.

The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) is located in Journal Square and was founded in 1983. Our current state-of-the-art facility, built in 2006, contains 12 labs. Some physical features of the CAI include quantity food preparation kitchens, bakeshops, dining rooms, a bar, ice carving lab, hospitality suite, and Foundation Subscription Dining Room. Students completing their externship hours participate in the Foundation Subscription Dining Series, which produces scholarship revenue for the college. The activities of the Foundation and CAI culminate with the annual Foundation Gala, which produces close to $200,000 annually in revenue for scholarships, benefitting HCCC students of every major.

Although we are the largest culinary educational facility in New Jersey, we are defined by the members of our family: the faculty and our students. There are 5 full time faculty and 20 adjunct faculty, bringing their industry experience and personal expertise to the college. We are especially proud of our senior faculty, some of whom have been part of our ranks since 1983. Our faculty bring work and entrepreneurial experience from the following venues to the college: Helmsley Hotel, Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Tribeca Grille, Rainbow Room, Russian Tea Room, Choc au Pain, Balthazar Bakery, and many other well-known staples throughout the tri-state area.

We have produced hundreds of successful hospitality leaders, many of whom have become entrepreneurs and leaders in their respective areas. Our alumni have received national recognition and exposure, successfully gaining employment at some of the most recognized restaurants in the tri-state area. Some of our students and faculty have also successfully appeared on and won nationally-televised cooking competition shows.

At the CAI, our commitment goes beyond the classroom. While our focus remains on students and faculty, we have never lost sight of the broader HCCC family. Since the start of the pandemic, the Culinary Club addressed critical needs with compassion and culinary excellence. To date, more than 25,000 high-quality, freshly prepared meals have been created and distributed through our food pantries managed by the Hudson Helps Resource Center-supporting students, faculty, staff, and administrators in times of need.

The CAI is proud of its exemplary accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) for our Associate Degrees and Certificates in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry. Since 1997, we have maintained continuous accreditation-setting the gold standard in foodservice education. Our programs empower aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals with the skills, creativity, and leadership needed to thrive and make a meaningful impact in the hospitality industry. Additionally, our program has been ranked #6 nationally by www.BestChoiceSchools.com.
