"Medical Technologist"

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Medical Technologist for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, performs laboratory procedures related to special coagulation.

• Responsible for performance of all laboratory procedures in hematology and special coagulation.
• Responsible for maintaining quality control of all tests performed in the Special Hematology Coagulation Laboratory.
• Responsible for keeping inventory and ordering supplies for the needs of the laboratory.
• Responsible for keeping up to date on new developments in technical aspects of laboratory procedures in hematology and special coagulation.
• Assists with other research related duties as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelors' Degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in coagulation required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in specialty coagulation procedures and/or using Siemens BCS coagulation instrumentation required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a laboratory environment. Some lifting may be required: laboratory items and /or boxes. Work Environment: Must pass employee health clearance, TB Test and required safety training. Will be required to follow all safety precautions in laboratory.
