"Temporary Student Research Assistant (Part-Time)"

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Student Research Assistant (Part-Time) for the Medicine Department within New Jersey Medical School.

The Temporary Student Research Assistant (Part-Time) will assist in data collection and analysis, coordinating with collaborating drug treatment centers, revising and editing survey instruments, reviewing data, entering data, creating datasets, integrating data from multiple sources, reviewing records, editing manuscripts, and related research and administrative tasks.

• Assists in review, quality control, and analysis of study data, using both Microsoft Excel and SAS® Software. This includes careful merging of datasets, examining data for consistency, identifying and taking steps to rectify any discrepancies, cleaning datasets, and running and creating summary data reports.
• Collaborates in assessment of validity of results of matching prospective cohort subjects' records to various data sources and in integration of outcomes data.
• Enters data into relevant databases.
• Assists in conducting literature reviews, in conjunction with a research librarian when appropriate, and integrates new references into the project reference database.
• Collects or assists in collection of data from participating drug treatment centers, involving on-site activities at those centers and coordination with staff at those centers.
• Revises and edits survey instruments in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator, and other research staff.

Minimum Education and Experience: Currently enrolled Rutgers undergraduate or graduate student in biology, public health, biomedical science, premedical studies, or a related field.

Special Conditions: If to be involved in collaborating with laboratory staff who access our biospecimen repository, Rutgers biosafety training will be required in advance. Flexibility of hours is an asset.

Salary: $17.00-$40.00 per hour
