"Research Teaching Specialist III"

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III for the Medicine Department within New Jersey Medical School.

Under the direction of the Data Operations and Management Center (DOMC) Director and Program Manager, the RTS III is responsible for data management oversight of protocols conducted at clinical sites, including the training of study staff. The RTS III will provide data management of specific protocols and will develop case report forms consistent with clinical protocols and investigator input. The RTS III creates SOPs for data collection sites to provide data capture and performs quality assurance audits to validate data in preparation for analysis by biostatisticians.

• Assists in the establishment and management of SAS software research databases, as well as in the selection of appropriate databases for analyses.
• As assigned, carries out various technical and research operations relating to investigatory, coding, and case report form (CRF) development activities.
• May assist in organizing and conducting specialized research activities for a particular research project, including monitoring data quality per standard operating procedures and/or coordinating QA/QC with international on-site staff and Rutgers Study Coordinators.
• Assists with the instructing and training of students, interns, and international study staff and in various techniques and procedures to develop the skills necessary to carry out SAS coding and analysis assignments.
• May coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of non-professional staff.
• Compiles and presents progress reports.
