MOSDOH - Clinical Receptionist
A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is seeking a non-exempt, full-time Clinical Receptionist on the St. Louis, MO campus. This position reports to the Assistant Director MOSDOH Clinical Operations. The Clinical Receptionist will greet and direct clients and visitors while answering incoming calls, taking messages, and responding to patient inquiries or complaints by referring them to the appropriate staff. Monitor patient flow, notify the Operations Director/Assistant Director of any issues, and contact dental assistant staff when patients arrive for appointments. Provide administrative support by preparing or editing Word and Excel documents, maintaining meeting room schedules, sorting mail, and completing filing and other general office duties as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Front Desk & Visitor Management: Greet clients and visitors, provide directions, and ensure they are routed to the appropriate location or staff member.
- Communication & Call Handling: Answer incoming calls, take and forward messages, and respond to patient inquiries or complaints by referring them to the appropriate personnel.
- Patient Flow Coordination: Monitor patient flow, notify the Operations Director/Assistant Director of issues, and contact dental assistant staff when patients arrive for appointments.
- Administrative Support: Prepare, edit, and maintain Word and Excel documents as assigned by the Operations Director/Assistant Director.
- Scheduling & Office Coordination: Maintain and manage meeting room schedules and assist with general office coordination.
- Mail, Filing & General Office Duties: Sort and distribute mail, complete filing, and perform other clerical or administrative duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR Certification.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge: EDR/EMR preferred to manage patients, computer literate, proficient in the use of word processing, Excel, e-mail.
- Skills: Great interpersonal skills with patients, students, employees and the public. Excellent communication skills.
- Abilities: Must be flexible, show initiative and capable of working under pressure and getting along with a diverse population.
