Night and Weekend Coordinator- John Garrick Hardy Center
Alabama State University, Student Life, invites applications for the position of Night and Weekend Coordinator of the John Garrick Hardy Center (JGHC). The Night and Weekend coordinator for the John Garrick Hardy Center is responsible for the supervision and management of the information desk, Game Room, collaborative learning environments, (first and second floor) and all other associated programs and services under the auspices of the JGHC. The JGHC, within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, serves as the hub of student life at Alabama State University. The facility houses Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management departments, reserve meeting and event space, dining and retail locations, and common student lounge space. The Coordinator of the JGHC is tasked with providing program coordination for both the day-to-day management of the game room.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regulate and monitor service, safety and security of the John Garrick Hardy Center by walking rounds, responding to issues and completing reports
- Supervise student assistants working as game room attendants, room set up technicians, movie theater attendants
- Assist John Garrick Hardy Center administration with student staff training and development
- Participate in planning, evaluations, and assessment
- Update all policies and procedures in written format as needed
- Responsible for the evening/weekend operations of the JGHC
- Work closely with campus partners including student engagement, student involvement, student leadership, student multimedia, and academic departments to ensure quality programming and services that create an engaging environment within the JGHC
- Provide assistance for all evening and weekend programs and services
- Maintain and updates departmental web pages, social media and marketing publications
- Oversee the Hardy Center Information Desk, and the student employees assigned
- Ensure customer service training is conducted, and staff meetings are held
- Establish and maintain an accurate listing of all organizations, advisers, executive officers and staff.
Bachelor's degree, an understanding of student development and leadership theory and its impact on practice, excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated strategic planning experience, proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities, available to work evening and weekends, demonstrated commitment to diversity and customer service and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders such as students, alumni, faculty, administrators, and community are required.
