Research Assistant I
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Summary
The Research Assistant I will help manage research projects in the Division of Cardiothoracic surgery. The Research will focus on the translation of our gene therapies for heart failure.
Job Duties
- Performs responsible research work that involves preparing, conducting, planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects, following general plans approved by the supervisor.
- Designs and conducts research experiments involving human subjects and tissues.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data from research projects.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for studies.
- Documents and interprets the results of experiments and reports to the principal investigator.
- Prepares IACUC and IRB protocols.
- Selects, evaluates, and determines appropriate research procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Handling animals and perform cardiac surgeries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
