We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant with relevant experience of administration or project management and excellent organisational skills. The appointee will help support the launch, development and online participant recruitment into EPIC-Oxford 2, a new phase of the EPIC-Oxford cohort study, and will work in close collaboration with a Data Manager and epidemiologists from the Unit.
The main responsibilities will include day-to-day administrative coordination of this programme of work, including assisting with the preparation of essential study documentation, and supporting participant recruitment, data collection, and ongoing participant contact for the EPIC-Oxford 2 cohort study. The post holder will oversee the delivery of public engagement activities and help ensure the smooth delivery of the study.
You will have experience of administration or project management. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, with the ability to work effectively with scientists, administrative staff, partners from other organisations and the general public. Experience of study recruitment and data collection is desirable.
The post is full-time (part-time will be considered) and fixed term for 1 year. This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post is available for 1 year or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest.
