Reference Number: 1424385 Curtin University is seeking a senior digital leader to drive performance, governance and continuous improvement across our future student websites, analytics platforms and digital marketing ecosystem.
This isn’t a traditional digital operations role. While you will lead web production and the ongoing performance of Curtin’s recruitment websites, the core focus of this role is translating digital experience strategy, UX direction and performance insight into scalable digital environments that support future student acquisition.
Working within University Marketing, you will help ensure Curtin’s digital platforms and channels don’t just run -they continuously improve, perform and evolve.
You will play a key role in a significant uplift of Curtin’s digital ecosystem, including the pilot implementation of a new analytics platform (such as Adobe CJA).
This role will help ensure new user journeys, technologies, publishing models and performance strategies are configured to maximise discoverability, engagement, conversion and long-term scalability across the future student journey.
Alongside this transformation work, you will lead the team responsible for web production, digital analytics, technical digital marketing (including SEO and AI-led optimisation) and ongoing performance optimisation - ensuring strong operational delivery while building more mature and sustainable ways of working.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how digital experience strategy is operationalised within a large and complex environment -delivering high-impact, highly visible outcomes across Curtin’s domestic and international recruitment markets.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Digital Experience, you will lead key digital transformation initiatives within University Marketing, alongside web production, continuous enhancement, and performance optimisation across Curtin’s recruitment website ecosystem and supporting digital channels.
Working closely with UX, marketing, analytics and technology teams, you will translate journey design and experience direction into templates, publishing workflows, platform configurations and performance frameworks that enable consistent, measurable delivery.
You will also support the transition to new platforms, ensuring operational readiness, adoption and optimisation across the ecosystem.
Alongside this, you will lead and develop a team of digital specialists responsible for web production, search optimisation, analytics and digital governance. (Official Title Project Lead, Digital Operations & Performance).
What you’ll focus on:
- Leading the pilot implementation of a new analytics platform (such as Adobe CJA) and embedding it into sustainable production, engagement and performance practices
- Operationalising the Digital Experience Strategy and Roadmap into core business delivery and measurable performance outcomes
- Translating UX direction and designs into scalable templates, publishing processes and platform configurations
- Improving digital performance across web, marketing platforms and key student recruitment channels
- Embedding measurement frameworks, dashboards and attribution approaches across platforms and touchpoints
- Overseeing web production and continuous enhancement of Curtin’s recruitment websites
- Strengthening internal search, metadata and AI-led discoverability
- Improving technical website performance and compliance standards
- Leading and developing a high-performing digital team
- Building strong partnerships across marketing, technology and recruitment teams
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
You’re a senior digital leader who leads people and platforms with equal confidence, connecting strategy, digital capability and performance optimisation to deliver measurable outcomes. You will bring:
- Experience leading digital or marketing operations in a complex organisation
- Strong understanding of website ecosystems, analytics and optimisation
- Experience improving digital performance and operational maturity
- Confidence working across UX, marketing, business and technology teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
