We’re seeking a Strategic Marketing Projects Lead to drive the evolution of integrated marketing planning, performance visibility and coordinated delivery across portfolio ensuring priorities are clearly aligned, initiatives are strategically sequenced, roles and responsibilities are well understood, and teams are set up for success.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role supports the University Marketing leadership team to drive projects and initiatives that strengthen integrated marketing planning, performance governance and coordinated delivery across the division. It provides additional senior strategic capability to streamline operational planning, enhance cross-team and ensure priority initiatives progress effectively.
The role will lead and project manage a defined portfolio of high-priority marketing initiatives, working closely with teams responsible for execution and delivery. Working alongside other senior marketing managers, you will recommend strategic direction, governance and momentum while empowering teams to execute successfully.
This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity supporting a clearly defined program of high-impact strategic work. The role is initially scoped for 12 months, it plays a vital part in the ongoing effectiveness of University Marketing and provides valuable exposure to senior stakeholders and key strategic initiatives, offering excellent experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Integrated Planning & Performance Visibility
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of integrated marketing planning frameworks across University Marketing, including prioritisation, sequencing, reporting and alignment of activity.
- Strengthen operational planning approaches to support more connected and efficient ways of working.
- Shape and enhance direction of divisional performance reporting and governance frameworks to provide insight and inform executive decision making.
Priority Projects & Cross-Team Coordination
- Project manage selected strategic marketing initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Provide coordination, structure and oversight while enabling teams to execute effectively.
- Drive collaboration and shared accountability across teams.
Strategic Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Help identify and progress opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness, alignment and operational efficiency.
- Analyse complex challenges, surface strategic insights and support practical solutions that enhance delivery.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of planning, reporting and collaboration practices.
Leadership Support & Divisional Alignment
- Provide senior operational and strategic support to the Director and leadership team.
- Support alignment across priorities, stakeholders and initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining momentum on key divisional priorities.
Who we are looking for/Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience leading complex marketing, digital or organisational projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate direction into coordinated, practical delivery.
- Experience in integrated planning, performance reporting or operational improvement in a marketing or transformation context.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the credibility and confidence to influence at senior levels.
- Excellent communication, judgement and collaboration capability.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence.
- Postgraduate qualification in marketing, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
Experience in higher education or another large, complex organisation will be highly regarded.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
