Student Assistant (Research)
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant (Research) for the Department of Infectious Diseases Medicine within New Jersey Medical School. The student Research Assistant will participate in TB immunology research and gain experience in laboratory research work. They will develop the skills of critical thinking and enhance their knowledge base in the field of TB immunology and host immunity. They will also assist a senior lab member while acquiring the above skill sets.
- Conducts human immunology experiments, including flow cytometry, cell culture, and gene expression by NanoString platform and analysis of acquired data.
- Assists in animal experiments with M. tuberculosis in BSL3 facility.
- Expected to provide an intellectual and interactive commitment to the position by keeping up with appropriate literature and research publications.
- Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics, or high-technology applications to perform work duties.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Assists in manuscripts for publication of data generated.
