About the Role

We’re seeking an exceptional Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our recruitment function and deliver a high impact, people first talent experience across the University, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As a leader within People & Culture, you’ll drive a high-quality Talent Acquisition service that’s aligned to Swinburne’s strategic workforce needs and underpinned by outstanding customer and candidate satisfaction. In this pivotal role, you will oversee end to end hiring activity, lead a team of skilled Talent professionals, and ensure we attract and secure the best talent to meet both current and future organisational priorities.

A key focus of this role is supporting the Executive Group and the Vice-Chancellor’s Office with their high-profile recruitment needs. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping them define talent requirements, set recruitment strategies, and ensure seamless, high-quality processes for our most critical appointments.

You will also play a central role in strengthening recruitment systems and practices, with Workday implementation experience or system knowledge highly regarded. Your expertise will help optimise our processes, uplift capability, and enhance the overall hiring experience.

Working closely with the Director, Talent, Organisational Development and Remuneration, you’ll contribute to strategic workforce planning, employer branding initiatives, and projects that elevate Swinburne’s employee experience. You’ll also stay across industry trends, monitor key recruitment metrics, and lead continuous improvement to ensure Swinburne remains competitive in the market for top talent.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned TA leader who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and delivering exceptional outcomes across all levels of the organisation.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of recruitment best practices are essential for success in this role.
  • Experience in supporting executive groups with their recruitment needs
  • Experience in a role and organisation of similar size and complexity.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a service orientated, outcome driven team.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within Talent Acquisition / Recruitment.
  • Knowledge of higher education positions, industry specific labour market complexities and Workday implementation and knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

A degree or post graduate qualification in a related field.
