Temporary Research Assistant
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department within New Jersey Medical School.
The purpose of this position under the direction of the Principal Investigator, will be to analyze Pseudomonas aeruginosa infected clinical samples using standard cellular, molecular, and biochemical techniques.
- Conduct bacterial transformation, plasmid isolation using kits, and help postdoctoral fellows in their experiments, as needed.
- Maintenance of lab-Preparation of microbial and tissue culture medium as need, autoclaving or filter sterilization, isolation of plasmids and purification of recombinant proteins.
- Ensures maintenance and proper use of lab equipment.
- Performs various research and technical procedures.
- Compile, analyze and maintain all data related to research activities.
- Understands and adheres to legacy UMDNJ compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
