Job Summary
TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program that serves students to overcome obstacles to education, including limited income, first generation to college, and disability. The primary objective of this position is to increase the persistence, graduation and transfer of SSS participants. The TRIO Student Success Advisor provides leadership for the TRIO program through development of programming, is responsible for assigned program administrative functions and budget functions that support student programs along with providing intentional and holistic advising to a cohort of SSS participants. Responsible for data tracking and developing the Department of Education annual progress report. The TRIO Student Success Advisor represents the office across ACC.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Provides intentional and holistic advising service for TRIO SSS participants, including academic, financial aid, financial literacy, transfer, career, and personal development advising.
- Design, develop and deliver TRIO SSS orientations, interviews, and needs assessments of prospective TRIO SSS participants.
- Responsible for programmatic leadership to develop and assess for outcomes academic support activities such as tutoring, multimedia learning tools, and academic "study groups".
- Coordinate and teach TRIO SSS Summer Bridge, an introduction to college course provided to new SSS-eligible students preparing for their first semester at ACC.
- Serve as the administrative staff responsible for TRIO day to day operations, budget and fiscal management, data integrity annual performance reporting, customer service, and quality assurance.
- Collects, interprets, and utilizes data to assess student needs, assess student learning, monitor student performance, assess intentional and intrusive advising efforts, and evaluate programming.
- Hire, manage and supervise TRIO Student Support Services student staff and part-time tutors.
This position is grant funded through August 31, 2030. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience in a higher education setting in postsecondary academic advising or program coordination, preferably working with underrepresented student populations including Students of Color, low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities.
- Two (2) years of experience engaging diverse student populations.
- Experience with event planning and coordination.
- Knowledge of budget management and effective promotions.
- Knowledge of student development theory, techniques, and research associated with engaging diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of inclusive excellence and cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish goals and assess outcomes for programs and activities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Bilingual
- Familiarity with the mission and operation of Federal TRIO projects.
