Administration Officer (student and academic administration)
About This Opportunity
We are seeking a part-time Administration Officer (student and academic administration) to ensure effective delivery of first year core engineering courses and to provide professional and accurate advice to staff and students.
While reporting to the Manager, Student and Academic Administration within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, this position is expected to be embedded within one of the Faculty’s Engineering Schools and will receive day-to-day direction from School Senior Administration staff. Key responsibilities will include:
- Support course and assessment administration, including extensions, exams, e-learning support, course profile publication and grade management.
- Provide efficient administrative support to staff, including room bookings, meeting scheduling and secretarial duties.
- Coordinate administrative and logistical support for student-focused events such as Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Project and Demonstration Days.
- Deliver accurate advice to students and staff on a wide range of student administration matters.
- Assist with preparing materials, reports and documents for tasks within the School or Faculty Academic Services team.
- Maintain the Faculty/School’s digital platforms (website, intranet), contribute to ad-hoc publications, liaise with other units on policy/procedures, and undertake other duties as directed.

About You
- An undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise competing work demands in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to organise a wide range of events involving multiple stakeholders.
- Problem solving skills using judgement and reasoning in interpreting situations and providing accurate and consistent advice, particularly in relation to policies and procedures.
- Proficiency at an advanced level using student administration systems, learning management systems, and the Microsoft suite of products.
- Commitment to and enthusiasm for the provision of excellent client service.
- Ability to operate flexibly across the range of functions and to work as a member of a team.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
