Position Summary: Directs the Apprenticeship Programs and assist with the Leadership Development Program for Housing Facilities. Oversees the design of lesson plans, methods, and materials needed to support the Housing Facilities Career Progression Program. Participates in the management of the department by recommending allocation of resources and new/improved programs. Provides feedback to the Director USC Housing Facilities, Operations and Maintenance to encourage employees’ growth and development. Assists with other training as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Design and Development: Develop, implement, and oversee the Apprenticeship Program for Housing Facilities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and industry standards.
  • Program Management: Manage the Apprenticeship Program for Housing Facilities and other related programs including the day-to-day operational and annual program modifications.
  • Career Progression and Workforce Development: Collaborate with the Director of Facilities Operations and SAAS Human Resources to establish clear pathways for career progression within facilities operations.
  • Administrative and Operational Oversight: Monitor and evaluate progress of the overall program as well as employees by tracking, documenting, and preparing appropriate reports.
  • Employee Development and Feedback: Provide ongoing mentorship and support to program participants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 3 years work experience in training programs

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of design and development of needs assessment, curriculum design, evaluation and training delivery methods. Presentation and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate concepts, terminology, and practices. Knowledge of relevant computer software; Ability to stimulate and facilitate individuals and groups in the learning process; Ability to plan and manage projects and self-directed work groups, direct and supervise staff when necessary, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
