Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary hiring range is $4,047 - $4,211 per month (Steps 1 – 3), commensurate with qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this classification is $4,047 - $5,896 per month.
- This full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week) position is temporary and expected to end approximately 1 year from the date of hire.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees are also able to participate in the fee waiver education program.
Job Summary
The mission of the Human Resources Department at California State University, Fresno is to enhance the university community by attracting, retaining, and supporting a quality workforce in its effort to provide an excellent educational program for our students. Under the supervision of the HR Manager for Benefits, the incumbent performs a wide variety of administrative and technical duties in support of multiple Human Resource programs.
Key Qualifications
- Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and standard practices, including principles of customer service.
- Working knowledge of general practices, policies and procedures of a Human Resources Benefits Department.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Google email and calendar, etc.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to benefits.
- Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to sensitive written and electronic records.
Education and Experience
- Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
- 3 years of related office work experience.
- 1 year in Human Resources Benefits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Resources software.
- Knowledge of CalPERS benefits, leave and retirement programs.
- Two years in Human Resources Benefits.
