Coordinator of Student Services & Events, EMBA Programs, SC Johnson College of Business

Cornell SC Johnson College of Business:

Leading at the intersection of people, business, and technology, the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business is one of the most comprehensive business schools in the nation and includes many areas of expertise not found in any other leading institution. The college is comprised of the university's three accredited business schools, each of which is recognized as among the best in higher education: the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, and the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Our academic research; industry and community engagement; and undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs all reflect the future of business: flexible, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary. The college community includes 232 research faculty, 46,000 alumni, and nearly 3,300 undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. The SC Johnson College of Business has an unparalleled resource base from which to draw--within the college, Cornell Tech in New York City, and Cornell University broadly.

Our Team:

Among the portfolio of MBA programs, the Johnson Graduate School of Management offers three executive MBA programs that allow professionals the opportunity to pursue an MBA while remaining engaged in their careers. Two of the offerings include: the Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY program, and the Cornell Executive MBA Americas program. The EMBA Americas program is delivered in partnership with Queen's University.

Both programs provide working professionals with the opportunity to pursue an Ivy League graduate degree by undertaking a rigorous weekend course of study in business management without interrupting their careers.

Classes in the EMBA Metro NY program are delivered in-person at the Cornell Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City on alternating weekends, Saturday and half-day Sundays. Students also complete four one-week residential sessions in Ithaca at the start of each semester in July and January.

In the EMBA Americas program, students attend classes from boardroom locations or from home via live, interactive virtual instruction on alternating weekends. Staff in Ithaca and New York City support these students to develop them as responsible business leaders. There are four residential sessions for the EMBA Americas program in both the United States and Canada.

The Coordinator of Student Services & Events plays a critical role in delivering high-impact student experience for over 350 Executive MBA students enrolled in the Cornell EMBA Americas and EMBA Metro NY programs. Reporting to the Director of Operations for EMBA Programs, this position works independently to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of class weekends, multi-day residential sessions in Ithaca and NYC, a range of co-curricular engagement activities or EMBA students and alumni, and provides planning and coordination support to the Queen's team for the Kingston and Toronto residential sessions. This includes end-to-end management of classroom and event logistics, student lodging, dietary accommodations, faculty support, professional headshots, pre-program materials, and coordination with IT, catering, and facilities. The role also supports onboarding of ~215 new students each year, facilitates communications and surveys, manages program materials and announcements, and ensures smooth operations across ten national boardrooms used by EMBA Americas students. Additionally, this role collaborates with the EMBA Admissions team to provide logistical support for prospective student events, helping to create a welcoming and polished first impression for future EMBA students.

With a student-first mindset, this position is instrumental in cultivating a seamless, community-centered environment during high-touch, in-person programming. The coordinator regularly staffs class weekends and residential sessions, serving as the first point of contact for programming and events for students and faculty alike. Responsibilities also include drafting class weekend newsletters, supporting financial transactions, maintaining program databases, and contributing to special projects and strategic initiatives. As a core member of the two-person operations team, this role ensures that academic delivery and co-curricular engagement exceed expectations, despite high volume and complexity.

This is a full-time position with regular weekend work required.

While position responsibilities vary, every member of our community is expected to foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by communicating across differences; being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming; showing respect, compassion, and empathy; engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective; speaking up when others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and supporting work/life integration of oneself and others.
