The Executive Officer provides high-level governance and executive support to the Company Secretary and General Counsel, and as required, to the Chancellor, Council members, and the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
This role acts as a key liaison internally and externally, serving as the initial point of contact for organisations and individuals communicating with these offices. The position reports directly to the Company Secretary and General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate reports and draft correspondence on behalf of the Office.
- Maintain Council and Committee membership records, prepare and distribute agenda papers, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Undertake special projects, including data gathering and analysis for reports and papers.
- Monitor expenditure for the Office and provide executive support as required.
About the person
The ideal candidate will bring strong governance support experience and exceptional organisational skills to a high-level executive environment. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated political acumen, tact, and discretion in representing senior executives and handling sensitive matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with advanced writing, editing, and proofreading ability.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information, prioritise competing deadlines, and work flexibly under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, independent judgment, and initiative to make effective decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and solid numeracy and logistical skills.
Desirable: Experience in a tertiary environment, understanding of legal documents and corporate governance, event management, and familiarity with systems such as StudentOne and FinanceOne.
Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $96,222.23 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
