The Department of Health Sciences in Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time Instructional Assistant Professor of Health Sciences (Anatomy) position with expertise in human anatomy. The position begins August 2026.

Each faculty line is renewable based on performance, department needs, and funding. Full-time instructional faculty in renewable lines at Chapman University play critical roles in the program for teaching, pedagogy, advising, and service; have the opportunity for promotion to associate and full professor; and have full votes on matters of faculty governance at both program and college levels.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will teach core courses in human anatomy lecture and lab, neuroanatomy, advanced anatomy, and applied anatomy with the potential to teach in other areas of health science.
- The candidate will engage in department and university service (e.g., advising students, serving on department or university committees).
Qualifications
We welcome faculty who have expertise in teaching anatomy to a cross section of undergraduate students using Anatomage Tables and a variety of anatomy-based software.
We also welcome faculty who incorporate AI into teaching and learning.
We welcome faculty whose area of expertise adds to or complements current areas of strength in our faculty.
Required
- Ph.D. in Anatomy or Clinical Anatomy is preferred.
- A Ph.D. or clinical degree in a complementary field such as Human Physiology, Applied Physiology, Exercise Physiology or Physical Therapy will be considered.
Preferred
- Evidence of past or potential excellence in teaching anatomy courses to undergraduate students.
- Experience mentoring students
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $101,000 per year. The top end of the salary range is not negotiable. This position is contingent on final budget approval.
