Lecturer in Writing
The Division of Languages and Literature at Maryville College, a selective four-year liberal arts college committed to superior teaching, invites applications for a full-time lecturer in writing position beginning in August 2026. Successful candidates will have either a master’s degree or higher in a writing-focused field and/or significant experience in journalism and professional writing. Qualified candidates will have a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and previous teaching experience is preferred.
Teaching responsibilities include a combination of courses in composition, journalism, professional writing, and public relations. Additional opportunities exist to teach in the Core Curriculum or develop other writing courses. The candidate will also advise and help support student publications that include a student newspaper and literary magazine.
