Job Description

• Full-time, Ongoing position at HEW Level 5. 
• Penrith campus with flexible working arrangements. 
• Salary: $84,096 – $95,103 per annum, plus 17 percent Super and Leave Loading. 

Create meaningful communications to connect students and staff with essential Library services. 

The Opportunity

As the Library Communications Officer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering communication and promotional activities that enhance awareness of Library services, spaces, and learning support. Working closely with Library teams, you will craft targeted messaging and deploy campaigns across multiple channels to strengthen engagement with students and academic staff. 

You will support content creation across written, digital, social media, and visual formats, ensuring all communication aligns with Western’s brand standards and the Library’s strategic priorities. The role also includes coordinating campus-based promotional activities, ensuring consistency, quality, and an inclusive experience for diverse audiences. 

Your work will contribute directly to the Library’s mission of advancing student success, authentic partnership, and sector leadership. You will collaborate with staff across multiple sites, evaluate engagement outcomes, and continuously refine approaches to maximise communication effectiveness. 

What Success Looks Like

• Prepare high-quality library communications across a variety of channels and for different audiences. 
• Coordinate effective campus-based promotions that drive engagement with Library services. 
• Support the creation of visual and written collateral to build awareness. 
• Apply data-driven insights to evaluate communication outcomes and identify improvements. 
• Contribute to planning and delivery of Library involvement in University-wide events.

About You

• A degree in Marketing, Media, Communications or Social Media, or the equivalent work experience in communication content creation across digital, web, social, and written formats. 
• Experience in strategic communication content creation on multiple platforms 
• Advanced skills in visual design using tools such as Adobe Suite or Canva. 
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate promotional activities across multiple locations. 
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
• Personal values in line with Western Sydney University and its Library
