Part-Time Lecturer(s) in Ethnic Studies
The Ethnic Studies Department at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 quarters. Fall 2025 quarter begins September 22, 2025 and ends December 12, 2025. Winter 2026 quarter begins January 2, 2026 and ends March 20, 2026.
Salary: $7,886 per course (pending final budget approval).
Qualifications: A completed M.A. in Ethnic Studies, African/African American Studies, Ethnic Studies/American Studies, Art History, History, Law, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Ethnomusicology, Public Health, Education, Public Affairs, Urban Planning, Philosophy, Theater, Film, Literature, Humanities, Gender Studies, LGBTQ Studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a minimum of two years of teaching experience and a demonstrated record of distinguished undergraduate teaching is required. Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching Ethnic Studies and who are knowledgeable in the area(s) of: Korean American Studies, Chicano Studies, and Native American Studies. In addition, preference will be given to internal prior Pre-Six candidates.
Course offerings are subject to availability of funding. Applications are welcome from persons qualified to teach:
Fall 2025: ETST 005: Introduction to Asian American Studies in Comparative Perspectives, ETST 161: United States Latinos: Crossing Borders, Crossing Cultures
Winter 2026: ETST 002: Introduction to Chicano Studies in Comparative Perspective, ETST 007: Introduction to Native American Studies in Comparative Perspective
