The Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is recruiting for part-time Transfer Center Program Aide. The Transfer Center Program Aide supports students through the complexities of transferring from LTCC to a four-year institution. This position plays a vital role in providing general information, resources, and guidance to students striving to achieve their academic transfer goals.

Description
- Student Support: Providing general information about transfer requirements, university programs, and application processes.
- Information Dissemination: Maintaining and distributing current transfer information, including university catalogs, brochures, and financial aid resources.
- Event Coordination: Organizing and facilitating transfer-related events such as transfer fairs, workshops, and visits from university representatives
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintaining records of student transfers, usage statistics, and preparing reports for administrators.
- Application Assistance: Helping students navigate the transfer application process, including providing instruction and reviewing applications.
- Outreach and Promotion: Publicizing transfer center activities to the campus and community, including creating promotional materials and making classroom presentations.
- Clerical and Administrative Support: Performing general office duties, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with correspondence
Education and Experience
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with students, staff, and university representatives.
- Organizational and Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and organize events.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and systems like ASSIST.org, CSU Mentor, and FinAid.
- Customer Service: Demonstrating a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and needs of community college students.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role within an academic setting, ideally involving transfer activities.
- Educational Background: Often requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with some positions preferring a college degree or coursework in education or related fields.
