Research Data Analyst, Ohio Cyber Range Institute, School of Information Technology, CECH
Job Overview
The Ohio Cyber Range Institute seeks to hire a Research Data Analyst. We are looking for a mission driven, team-oriented, highly ambitious individual who wants to serve, make a difference, and strives to perform at competitive levels of excellence. This is a grant-funded position; the continuation of this position will be based on the availability of funds and the continuation of the grant.
Under general supervision from the Associate Director, the Research Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data from various databases and sources. The Research Data Analyst will also provide consultation, technical assistance, and coordination for a wide variety of faculty and stakeholders.
This position is 100% on-site but may offer flexibility for a hybrid work option once training is complete. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with the School of Information Technology telework policy and university policies.
Please note that this position is not eligible for H-1B or permanent residency sponsorship. However, candidates with Optional Practical Training with at least 2 years remaining are welcome to apply.
Essential Functions
- Design, develop and/or maintain a research-focused information database, including integrating data from existing University and departmental data systems.
- Perform statistical and/or mathematical programming.
- Assist with various tasks associated with assessment studies, analysis, and evaluation of academic and non-academic topics.
- Conduct survey research analysis, including administration and logistics, compilation of data results, and presentation and visualization of results.
- Assist in peer institution analysis and benchmarking activities through querying state and national databases.
- May provide low-level departmental IT support and serve as a liaison to other units/offices.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Math, Computer Science or related field.
- Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in managing large data sets, analyzing statistical techniques and software, and reporting data in a meaningful format.

- Master's degree in computer science or related field
- Experience using Tableau software
