Student and Academic Administration Officer - Mechanical and Mining Engineering
About This Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and efficient Student and Academic Administration Officer to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the administrative functions of the School.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-level administrative support to students, academic staff and professional colleagues within the School.
- Deliver timely and accurate advice in line with University policies, procedures and legislation.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, resolving routine and complex matters.
- Process student administration including applications, extensions, deferred exams, enrolment and remarks.
- Support academic administration (course profiles, Blackboard updates, exams and grade processing).
- Coordinate meetings, projects and events, while maintaining systems, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative and customer service support in a high-volume environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work, as well as a high level of organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong working knowledge of student and academic administration processes, as well as relevant University policies and procedures, or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
