Overview
Student Affairs at Auburn University is seeking applications for the position of Program Coordinator, Student Government Association (SGA). This position will be responsible for overseeing all branches of the Student Government Association. They will be responsible for supervising and advising the student-led organization by overseeing the SGA Executive Officers, all branches of SGA Cabinet (Finance, Initiatives, Outreach, Communications & Marketing), the Student Senate, the SGA Elections Council, and other duties as assigned. This will require regular attendance at a variety of weekly meetings with student leaders, some of which are held after regular business hours. They will be responsible for supporting students with policy compliance, risk management, assessment, budget management, and other organizational oversight needs. They will represent Student Involvement and/or Student Affairs on various committees and/or initiatives for student-related issues. When available, they will supervise one Graduate Assistant for SGA.
Responsibilities
- Provides oversight and guidance to all branches of the Student Government Association (including the Executive Cabinet, Student Senate, and Elections Council).
- Advises student leaders and provides direction for student-led projects, programs, and events.
- Ensures compliance with all university and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Budget preparation and management.
- Participates in staff meetings and trainings while also serving on committees and other efforts for Student Affairs.
- Supervises a Graduate Assistant when available.
- Coordinates distribution of materials within the student section for home football games and supports student section operations in partnership with Auburn Athletics, including some early morning and Saturday commitments during the fall semester.
- Leads multi-day out-of-state travel with the SGA executive board to the annual SEC Exchange Conference each summer.
This position requires an applicant who is willing to work long, often late hours, including occasional weekends. The Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Student Involvement.
Qualifications
Level I -
- Bachelor's degree
Level II -
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience OR
- Master's degree
Level III -
- Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience OR
- Master's degree plus 2 years of experience
Scope of Experience: Experience in student affairs administration, student programming, orientation, or related field.
