About the Role:
Victoria University is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused TAFE Credits Officer to join our Student Services and Administration team.
In this role, you will assess and process applications for credit (advanced standing), recognition of prior learning (RPL), and vocational education pathways. You will play a key role in supporting students through their academic journey by providing accurate advice, managing enquiries, and ensuring applications are processed efficiently and in line with University policies.
Working closely with TAFE Senior Educators and a broad network of internal stakeholders, you will contribute to a seamless and supportive student experience.
Salary: HEP 5 $79,135 - $90,899 per annum + 17% employer super
Employment Type: Full Time, Fixed-term until 31 October 2026
Hours: 36.75 per week

Flexible Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and process credit and advanced standing applications
Provide accurate advice and guidance to students and applicants
Support Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes in collaboration with TAFE Senior Educators
Manage enquiries and make informed day-to-day decisions
Maintain and update student information across University systems
Prepare and analyse datasets to support operational activities
Ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and timelines
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
About You:
You are a proactive and organised professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are confident working both independently and as part of a team.
You will bring:
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience (ideally within TAFE or higher education)
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel
Ability to quickly learn new systems (e.g. Student Management systems, CRM platforms)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Sound judgement and decision-making capability
Desirable:
Experience within a vocational education environment
Understanding of credit/RPL processes and relevant policies
The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
