Technology Delivery and Material Handler
Job Summary
Coordinates and executes delivery of technology equipment within the University. Responsible for loading, unloading, and tracking technology and other items as requested within a warehouse, storage facility, or other campus location. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move items within the storage facility. Completes assigned system tasks to update and verify the transfer of technology from and to each location in the Asset Management System. Routinely interacts with all constituents within the University community.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes delivery and removal of University technology from campus departments as requested via the asset management system service requests
- Validates and completes system tasks to ensure accurate and complete reporting of the state of each asset
- Utilizes mobile barcode scanner to accurately record the asset tag and serial number when performing receiving and surplus activities
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and duties in support of various services provided by department
- Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly
- Properly secures items for transportation and unloading
- Positions items within workspaces according to established guidelines
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of technology equipment and supplies
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Works effectively in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changes in priorities
- Follows through and carries out assignments
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
KSU forklift training within 30 days of employment
KSU driving requirements for UITS vehicles (i.e., Box Truck) within 30 days of employment
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Proven experience with an asset and inventory tracking system (i.e., ServiceNow)
Proven experience with an ordering system (i.e., PeopleSoft)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to operate various equipment related to role and department
Able to drive KSU vehicles (i.e., box trucks, vans, golf carts, etc.) to different areas on campus. Able to work outdoors in all types of weather
Able to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions, interpret campus maps and basic drawings
Able to use a variety of standard power and hand tools safely and efficiently as needed
Wears the appropriate safety and protective equipment
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Has knowledge of commonly used practices, procedures and safety protocols within a particular field to include all areas of distribution, warehouse, surplus, and inventory
Knowledge of maintenance processes, equipment, and products; maintaining a safe environment
Knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment, tools, etc.
Understands and applies University and Departmental policies and procedures
SKILLS
Strong interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written) and time management skills
Basic proficiency in computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, asset management system - ServiceNow, ordering system - Peoplesoft)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills including proper phone and e-mail etiquette

This is not a supervisory position.
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
This position will be required to drive.
This role is considered a position of trust.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position may travel 50% - 74% of the time
