Temporary- Departmental Assistant

Job Summary

This position will provide support to the Admissions team by assisting with administrative tasks, event preparation, recruitment initiatives, data processing, and projects as needed. This position will assist with various tasks, including campus tours, call campaigns, mailing preparation, and more. This position will assist prospective students and applicants through the enrollment process and positively represent Vol State and provide excellent customer service.

Job Duties

• Conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families.
• Participate in call campaigns to follow up with prospective students and applicants, providing information and answering questions about the admissions process.
• Assist in preparing and organizing mailings, including admission packets, informational brochures, and other materials.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering inquiries in person, over the phone, through text messages, and via email.
• Support the admissions staff with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Assist in planning and executing admissions events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education, especially at a community college.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in using computers and common office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Pay Rate

$16.00 per hour
