Temporary Student Accounts Specialist
Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Student Accounts Specialist position is responsible for:
- Run student billing processes including monthly statement bills to traditional students, TealPay, Non-Enrolled Students Statement bills and OAP Student Bills.
- Upload bill in e-bill
- Send out emails to authorized users
- Administer tuition waivers for staff, senior citizens, 115B, and international students.
- Reconcile tuition waiver accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and submit waiver data in Banner for Census reporting.
- Monitor and respond to waiver email inbox.
- Monitor employees' status during the term and remove waivers for employees whose employment has ended.
- Audit and research student account charges billed by attribute, ensuring accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Process manual TouchNet TealPay payment plan operations.
- Customer support by monitoring email and voicemail for teal pay.
- Monthly account reviews and holds.
- After drop/add complete daily audits for billing using SSRS billing change reports to verify charge adjustments each term
- Apply and remove SD holds and reinstatement fees related to enrollment status changes.
- Assist with rate table and billing attribute testing during system updates in TEAL.
- Provide frontline customer service for student account inquiries via phone and shared mailbox.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience with Banner Finance or similar ERP or Oracle system
- Experience in higher education or a state agency
- Experience with TouchNet or other payment gateway system
- Ability to analyze processes, detect inefficiencies, and determine solutions
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate to all organizational levels, students, and parents
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to effectively communicate via phone, email, and face-to-face
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
