Job Description

The professional staff of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice are committed to best practice, innovation and continuous improvement, and as a high-performing team we provide outstanding professional support to the School's learning and teaching, research and engagement activities.

We are looking for a highly organised Administrative Support Officer who will play a key role in supporting the effective and efficient operations of the School through exceptional administrative support.

The role is integral to the team supporting a range of functions including providing administrative assistance to the Head of School, supporting sessional engagements and academic excellence programs, as well as providing support and assistance to Academics, HDR Candidates, and Honours students.

The position includes general administrative support across a range of functions including health and safety, IT, financial, human resource processes as well as facility coordination, for this reason, the appointee should have the capability and flexibility to redeploying their efforts as needed in a dynamic and constantly changing work environment.

This role is an on-campus position and requires the successful applicant to work on site.

About you

You have been described as a “people” person, communicate well with everyone you meet, and have a commitment to delivering high-quality client service. You are a team player and understand the part we all play in getting things done. Your flexibility in redeploying your efforts where required is imperative, as this is a constantly changing work environment. Your attention to detail sets you apart from others. You are technically savvy with tools and systems and if you don’t know the answer to a question, you know how to find it.

Ideally, you will have worked in an administrative role previously, remotely and in-person and can be trusted to work autonomously, and as part of a high performing team. Diversity, transferrable skills, and knowledge are highly regarded in this team, where your efforts are rewarded with professional development opportunities and flexible work arrangements. If this sounds like you, and you are looking for a rewarding role working in a high-performing School, we welcome your application.
