Description
The Admissions & Recruitment Specialist supports UCM Graduate Studies at the beginning of the domestic graduate student lifecycle from the point of identifying prospects to the point of enrollment. This position is critical to helping new UCM domestic graduate prospective students enroll in their desired graduate program. This position collaborates with the Marketing Specialist position and the Operations and Systems Manager position within Graduate Studies to execute a strategic enrollment plan. This position will also collaborate and communicate frequently with graduate program coordinators to assist students in their UCM educational journey.
Examples of Duties
Responsible for recruiting prospective domestic graduate students and guiding them through the admissions process. - 50%
- Represent UCM Graduate Studies at college fairs, career fairs, graduate school exhibits, and other career-related events to promote all graduate academic programs. This includes events off campus and on campus, including all UCM career fairs. Participate in the planning and execution of informational interviews, in person and virtual, and campus tours for prospective graduate students and their families. Develop and execute large-scale campus visit days for prospective graduate students to engage with academic programs. Identify and maintain target databases of program-specific populations of prospective graduate students. Collaborate with the enrollment management team to develop outreach materials and admissions strategies.

- Evaluate domestic graduate student applications, including the review of academic transcripts, applicant information, and other academic records in a timely fashion. Provide guidance and support throughout the admissions process, including application requirements, deadlines, financial aid, and scholarships. Process domestic graduate student inquiries, applications, and admissions in Slate according to university and program admission criteria. Maintain accurate and timely records. Assist prospective students with the application process and connect students to graduate program coordinators accordingly. Ensure completed application materials are advanced for program-level review. Partner with the admissions team to create a graduate-level marketing campaign aimed at current UCM undergraduate students. Stay informed about trends in higher education and enrollment management. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice Provost of Graduate Studies
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree (any field) required
Experience:
- Two (2) years of higher education (admissions, enrollment, student services) required
- Experience with event planning, public speaking, or customer service required
- CRM knowledge required
