Assistant Box Office Manager
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Assistant Box Office Manager is responsible for promoting excellent customer service and fostering a professional atmosphere in the Box Office. In addition, the position is responsible for overseeing box office supervisors and student workers, leading Penn student ticketing and select rental events, providing group sales support for Student Discovery, Children's Festival, and Penn Live Arts Presents. The Assistant Manager will also assist with daily and monthly reconciliations, troubleshoot technical issues, and lead data hygiene efforts. The position will be required to manage the box office during performances on a rotational basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Hire, train and schedule reliable box office staff as well as disseminate event information to the box office staff on a regular basis regarding specific show and rental events.
- Manage box office and serve as Box Office Manager on duty in the absence of the Box Office Manager.
- Manage ticketing for children's performances, including Children's Festival and Student Discovery, as well as select rental/Insights events in collaboration with Associate Director of Education.
- Prepare weekly ticket sales reports via Tessitura and Excel.
- In collaboration with the department of marketing assist with subscription renewal process and the creation of marketing lists.
- Adhering to University and Annenberg Center Box Office policies, assist with daily credit card, cash deposits, petty cash reconciliations.
- Oversee and troubleshoot Tessitura issues. Act as liaison with Tessitura consortium and Annenberg Center IT department.
- Support group sales manager and telemarketing partners by coordinating the dissemination of weekly/ monthly sales information.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
- BA/BS and 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Tessitura box office software, sales and performing arts administration preferred, as well as customer service.
- Previous supervisory experience is also strongly preferred.
- Schedule will require working evenings, weekends and some holidays.

Pay Range
$21.15 - $25.00 Hourly Rate. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
