Responsibilities

Supports the School Director in the planning and implementation of admission goals, course offerings, course demand analysis, and projections related to undergraduate and graduate student enrollment. Assists the School administration with planning, implementation, and review of new and existing degree programs and advises on the planning and revision of the three-year course rotation schedule. Coordinates communication with the undergraduate advising team in the CCI Dean's Office to assist with resolution of student issues and curriculum implementation. Advises on next steps needed to keep projects and processes moving forward to attain the goals and objectives of the School. Contributes to a calendar of workflow and events and assists in the distribution of event notifications. Assists in managing the public posting of information for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders. Assist in or oversees production of regular documentation for disseminating information.

Oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of iSchool Student Services within the School of Information, including administrative leadership, coordination, and delivery of services. Leads short- and long-term planning, prioritizes unit initiatives, and contributes to school-wide strategic planning, staffing, and policy implementation. Manages the Student Services team through goal setting, recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation. Develops and maintains the unit's communications strategy. Serves as the primary coordinator for graduate degree programs (Ph.D., MSI, MAI, Specialist) and affiliated pathways, supporting students from inquiry through post-graduation. Ensures compliance with university tracking systems for student progression, registration, and graduation. Monitors graduate employment outcomes and oversee certificate program application and completion processes.

Coordinates and represents the School at administrative meetings and School/College/University committees as needed. Assists in developing and maintaining partnerships throughout the University to attain the goals and objectives of the school. Conducts outreach activities to facilitate recruitment for the MSI and doctoral degree programs, including coordination of recruitment events and engagement with prospective students and community partners.

Interprets University and Department policies and requirements related to admission, registration, progression, and graduation to ensure that all materials are up-to-date and reflect current practices in the School of Information. Manages student progress and works with the School Director to address retention problems and develop progression solutions for students who are on probation or dismissal, or who fail to complete graduation services. Coordinates with the School Director, CCI Dean's Office, and other University departments to facilitate withdrawals, leave of absence, and late course add and drop requests.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in information studies, higher education, counseling, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
