About the Role
Under broad direction, the University Field Supervisor (UFS) supports Social Work students during their professional placements. Working in partnership with placement providers, the UFS helps students integrate theory with practice, promotes ethical and culturally responsive care, and ensures alignment with registration and endorsement standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and group supervision (online or hybrid) to develop clinical skills, reflective practice, and professional identity.
- Monitoring placement progress, ensuring compliance with Social Work program requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Collaborating with placement sites and field supervisors to enhance student learning and support culturally safe practice.
- Addressing challenges proactively through timely feedback, appropriate escalation, and documenting supervision outcomes and student development.
About you:
You are a qualified Social Worker (AASW) and a Board-Approved Supervisor with proven experience supervising provisional social workers. You have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, along with a solid understanding of ethical, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and multicultural practice.
You will also have:
- A Masters or Doctoral-level qualification in Social Work (Essential)
- Clinical Endorsement (Desirable)
- Experience in child and adolescent practice (Desirable)
