Cultural Resources Management Specialist
This position is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The primary objective is to provide scientific and technical skills for the implementation of the Fort Knox cultural resources program. This involves completing field and administrative tasks, collecting and managing environmental data, interacting with the public and military personnel, and documenting resources while preparing reports for the Kentucky Heritage Council in compliance with State Level Documentation of Historic Properties standards.
Job Duties: The role requires an architectural historian to provide technical support for the installation’s cultural resources program, conduct research on historic buildings and sites through inventories, site evaluations, and monitoring. The individual must meet the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation, as well as the Kentucky Heritage Council’s professional standards for architectural history.
