This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $95,361 - $102,302 (HEW 6), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity

As the primary support to the Executive Director, you will act as the operational engine of the Strategic Partnerships Office (SPO). You won't just manage a diary, you will serve as a professional gatekeeper and proactive coordinator, ensuring the Government and Industry portfolio remains agile and impactful.

Key responsibilities will include:

Executive Support & Workflow Management

Provide high-level administrative assistance to the Executive Director, including complex diary management, travel coordination, and the optimisation of administrative systems to ensure a seamless flow of office business.

Strategic Stakeholder Liaison

Act as the primary point of contact for internal staff and high-ranking external representatives across government and industry, coordinating engagement activities, committee meetings, and specialised workshops.

Research & Confidential Documentation

Undertake background research and data analysis to draft high-quality briefings, correspondence, and reports, maintaining absolute discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential materials.

Financial & Project Coordination

Manage financial delegations, including budget preparation and account reconciliation, while leading portfolio-specific projects and providing executive assistance to the SPO Directors as required.

About You

Extensive knowledge in executive support or business administration, with a proven track record of supporting senior leaders within a complex corporate, government, or academic environment.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively and diplomatically with diverse stakeholders at all levels of an organisation and the wider community.

Proven ability to juggle competing priorities and navigate a fast-paced environment, using high-level organisational skills to meet deadlines without compromising on accuracy.

High level of sensitivity and sound judgement when dealing with confidential matters, paired with strong problem-solving skills to resolve or redirect issues independently.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
