Advertisement: St. Catherine University and the O'Shaughnessy Theater welcome applications for a .75 FTE House Crew (Technician) - union position. House Technicians are the lead technicians for The O'Shaughnessy providing technical support for events. With the Production Services Coordinator, Production Manager, and Stage Technicians these employees will provide all technical services required by the venue's production and theatrical equipment maintenance.

These employees are the lead technicians for all events that occur at The O'Shaughnessy. While each employee may be assigned to a specific specialized area of the production department, general knowledge and deep skills in all areas of theater crafts are required. These employees work as an interdisciplinary team to assist in the presentation of widely varied events. Skills in all areas of theatrical lighting, sound, rigging, carpentry are preferred. Additional skills in wardrobe, CAD software, dance floor installation and maintenance of all theatrical equipment are appreciated.

Responsibilities include:

• Theatrical equipment set-up, fine tuning, and operation for in house and presenter's production equipment. This may include all areas of theater crafts including control console operation, safe rigging, safe shifting of scenery as well as assisting with audio, video, props, floor maintenance, PowerPoint, etc.
• Preproduction work to prepare for upcoming events. This may include shifting soft goods, lighting, setting up audio equipment, dressing cables, or general cleaning of the stage following performances.
• Ongoing maintenance on theatrical equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Three (3) years of experience working in live theater or events

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading or supervising live event teams
• Professional demeanor when interfacing with diverse clients / artists and remaining calm in high pressure production environments are a requirement.
• General skills in all areas of theatrical lighting, sound, rigging, carpentry are preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in stage lighting (current priority)

Compensation: Hourly wage of $25.38
