About Us
The ANU Learning and Teaching portfolio supports the University’s strategic learning and teaching goals, with a focus on excellence and innovation in curriculum, digital learning infrastructure, and careers and employability. The ANU Careers and Employability team leads the University’s employability strategy, drawing on global best practice and labour market insights. The team works in partnership with discipline-specific hubs to embed evidence-based career development across both curricular and co-curricular learning.
Supported by the Associate Director - Student Employability and Industry Engagement, the Manager, Employability and Engagement Operations provides strategic leadership of careers education, work-integrated learning (WIL), and associated operational systems across the institution. The role leads the adoption of institution-wide WIL and careers management systems, ensuring compliance with legal, insurance, and risk requirements, and oversees the development and adoption of relevant policies and procedures. The role promotes a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, using data, best practice, and labour market intelligence to support students to translate their degrees into meaningful, future-ready careers.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader with strong expertise in careers and employability. Supported by the Associate Director - Student Employability and Industry Engagement, you will provide institution-wide leadership in the adoption and optimisation of WIL and careers management systems, ensuring compliance with legal, insurance, and risk requirements. You will oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and use data, labour market insights, and global best practice to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
You will lead a team responsible for delivering industry-informed services and for collecting, analysing, and translating data, including data that contributes to university rankings, into actionable insights and improvements. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to combine strategic vision with practical delivery.
