Job Summary: This is a PhD trajectory focused on improving the diagnostics and treatment of thyroid diseases. Thyroid diseases are among the most common in the general population, with diagnosis based on blood hormone levels. Inter-individual differences are primarily due to genetic variants, and over the past 20 years, many such variants have been identified. The research investigates whether using these genetic variants can enhance diagnostics and treatment, with promising initial results. As a PhD candidate, you will further develop and test this model in various clinical populations, aiming for implementation in daily clinical practice.

Responsibilities: Develop and test a model using genetic variants to improve diagnostics and treatment of thyroid diseases in different clinical populations. Work independently and collaboratively in an international team, utilizing analytical skills and enthusiasm for data to advance the project toward practical application.

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates should have an affinity for statistics and enjoy working with datasets. A completed master's degree in fields such as Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, (Nano)Biology, Mathematics, or Econometrics is required, though other relevant studies may be considered. You must work independently while thriving in a team environment, with strong analytical insight and enthusiasm for data analysis.

What the Employer Offers: A temporary contract for 36 months. A gross monthly salary between €3,598 and €5,669 (scale 10) for a full workweek of 36 hours. A 13th month payment in November and a personal travel allowance. Pension insurance with ABP, where the employer covers 70% of the premium.
