Simpson College has an immediate opening for the full-time Student Support Services (SSS) Director.

Broad Function/Job Summary:

Plan, direct, and implement all TRIO/Student Support Services program grant activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop programs/services/activities to promote retention and graduation rates among program participants.
• Recruit, select, and supervise project staff.
• Ensure that the project meets all grant obligations in a timely manner.
• Manage federal government funds and monitor SSS budget.
• Report on project accomplishment and complete all necessary evaluations and annual reports.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Master's degree in Education and Administration, Psychology, Youth Administration, Leadership Studies or related area. Three years progressive experience in teaching, counseling, or administration in a secondary or post-secondary setting.

Experience with federal grant program preferred.

Experience working with students from a diverse background who are either low-income or potential first-generation college students.

Preference given to individuals who have succeeded in overcoming the disadvantages of circumstances like those of the target area's population

FLSA Status & Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, regular, 12-month, exempt position.

Attendance is required.

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
