Research Technician III - Molecular Biology and Nutrition
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Summary
We are seeking a Research Technician III to conduct molecular biology studies in the field of liver disease. Our studies primarily use mouse models but also include organoid and cell culture models. In addition to conducting research and managing projects, the Research Technician III will order lab supplies and maintain laboratory organization.
Job Duties
- Harvesting RNA and protein from mouse tissues for real-time PCR (transcriptomics studies) and Western blotting.
- Culturing of organoid cell cultures and molecular biology analysis, including harvesting RNA, and immunostaining.
- Mouse studies include routine mouse colony management.
- Assist the PI with project management and development.
- Maintain accurate and detailed lab notebooks.
- Facilitate training of undergraduate and graduate students on proper lab techniques and equipment usage.
- Maintain and organize documents for submission of USDA and NIH progress reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field. Excellent organization and communication skills are essential. Experience with mouse colony management, data collection, and molecular biology techniques is preferred.
