About This Opportunity
The Senior Executive Officer provides high-level executive support to the Faculty Executive Manager, and broader Faculty Executive Team, through the provision of strategic policy advice, data analysis and reporting, stakeholder management and project management. Working with senior stakeholders, the Senior Executive Officer will manage the design and delivery of various strategic initiatives and support project management and governance processes.
The successful candidate will be an agile, critical thinker, who is just as comfortable diving into the detail as they are supporting organisational strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide high-level, well-researched and contextualised strategic advice, contributing to overall faculty operational and strategic planning, financial and resource management.
Prepare strategic documents, papers, presentations, reports and submissions for a range of strategic and operational activities.
Undertake and manage high-level project work, including coordination of expertise across the faculty and/or relevant UQ business functions.
Coordinate administrative actions leading to, or arising from, decisions made by the Faculty Executive Team.
Coordinate, contribute and work to continuously improve faculty operations and governance through support of committees; meetings; events, programs and other activities on behalf of the executive.
Work with relevant teams and key stakeholders to efficiently manage the review and approval process for legal agreements and contracts.
Establish and maintain strong internal and external networks, relationships and effective lines of communication with other units, key portfolios and organisational units and other senior stakeholders in order to establish and deliver strategic priorities, objectives and projects.
Deputise for the Faculty Executive Manager on working parties and committees as required.

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) incorporates 3 schools – UQ Business School, the School of Economics and the TC Beirne School of Law; and 2 research centres – the Australian Institute for Business and Economics (AIBE) and the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH).

About You
A postgraduate degree with relevant experience in a university or similar environment; extensive experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and /or education/training.
High-level interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build networks and liaise with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives with minimal direction, exercising judgement and problem solving within broad guidelines, in a large and complex environment.
High-level analytical and research skills, including proficiency in the use of contemporary tools to analyse and synthesise data.
Proven ability to collate and distil information from a wide range of sources and assist with or prepare and compile briefing papers, proposals, strategic funding requests and presentations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively through a range of mediums and with people from diverse backgrounds of varying levels.
Demonstrated ability to design and develop operational procedures and business processes in alignment with university policy guidelines and in pursuit of good governance and operational excellence.
Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia, qualifications, criminal history checks. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
